A lot of people may not realise it, but Pokemon is one of the best video games for equality for women in gaming today, especially in Generation 5.

Tumblr is legitimately one of the WORST places to get unbiased information about social issues.

Let’s be real, guys.

Pretty much this. It’s still the Internet in general, and Tumblr is not immune from spreading false information. Yes, this site can introduce basic concepts. But always check your sources, because they can be fake or misleading (and I’ve seen both happen way too many damn times here).

Can we PLEASE get rid of the phrase “slut-shame”?Here is a wonderful example of how pointlessly hurtful this phrase can be:The reporter uses the phrase “slut-shamed” to describe the kind of harassment facing this rape victim. The phrase implies that the victim is being “shamed” for being a “slut.”  The reporter is implicitly calling the victim a slut. The word “slut” is the same insult that the people of her town are using to harass this 14-year old victim. Why not simply use the word “harassment”? It’s a neutral word that does not put the focus on the victim’s sexuality. And again, I remind you that focusing on the victim’s sexuality IS the harassment she is facing right now.So please, just stop it with this phrase. If you want to reclaim an insult for yourself, fine, but it’s not possible to reclaim an insult on another person’s behalf.
